I'm not really a dream journalist. The only time I tried to write down my dreams the words came out incoherent and confusing. They were far too vague and sparse to really understand what picture I was painting and it didn't help me recall dream at all. I tried to find my little (4" square) journal to share here, but it looks like I lost the thing. So I've decided to share my half-remembered dreams instead.
Dream 1 - Job Offer
I'll describe the only dream I wrote down in that little journal. Note that the following does not resemble what I originally wrote and is based purely on my memory.
I was in a futuristic indoor marketplace. The ceiling was high up, completely covered in a hazy darkness. The hall was large and many people (and maybe aliens) were walking around. The walls were white and gray. There were horizontal lime-green lines on the walls, stretching into infinity. I was with my 'friend' (nobody I knew in real life) and we were wandering around. A man, possibly wearing a trenchcoat, approached me and vaguely offered me a job for 50. He didn't specify 50 of what exactly or what job I was doing so I was super suspicious. At some point we were sitting at a dining table styled similarly to the walls. I ended up rejecting the man's job offer by walking up to him and punching his face. Immediately afterwards, I woke up.
This isn't one my most interesting dreams, but it's a dream I can remember enough to write down here.
Dream 2 - Exploration
It's entirely possible that I've confused some parts of this dream for concepts I based on this dream. The dream was very video game like (most of my dreams are) so I (half-heartedly) wanted to make a game based on it. It would've been a Yume-Nikki type of game: ambient exploration of dreams. I've abandoned the idea since.
I can't remember how it started but the earliest part I remember was walking through a path. 3D prisms were floating in the air and I could collect them. At some point I ended up at a school gym. I went through the exit and found myself at... the exact same gym. I went through the door several more times and each time the gym began to change. The floor was being replaced with grass and weeds. Before long I reached the final exit and ended up in a sunflower field with a blue sky. I realize as I'm writing this down that I don't remember this dream as well as I thought I did. Whatever happened next, I can't recall.
This is the only art I drew based on the dream. This would've been the player character in my game idea. Everytime you'd start the game/respawn her appearance would be randomized. I gotta say, this thing creeps me out. I think I also tried to make a song for the game-idea, but never I finished it (it was also kinda creepy).
Dream 3 - Cavity
Content Warning: Body Horror
This one's gonna get weird.
I was in my room doing whatever. My sister comes in and tells me that her boyfriend has come to visit and the whole family has to go on a vacation/camping trip. I rush to the bathroom to get ready. I look at the mirror and look closely at my hair and face to make sure it's not a mess. Then I look at my stomach. Uh, I can't remember the reason why I did this next part, but here's where that warning comes in. I took my belly button and stretched it open, revealing my insides. I had no organs, fat, or muscles. I could see my ribs, spine, and pelvis. My spine was fused to the back of my body. I tried to see if there was anything under my ribs but I was interrupted by the sound of my sister telling me to hurry up. I woke up soon after.
This image of an exposed chest cavity has stuck with me for a while, making its way into some of my art (not showing that here tho). It's probably one of my most vividly remembered dreams due to the uh, body horror. It doesn't even feel like a weird dream to me (relatively speaking), but also it's weird. I'm hoping I'll be able to detail more of my other dreams in the future.
